Zakaria began his football career in 1998 with the Egyptian club, El Mansoura, where he showcased his high abilities and outstanding performance over three years until 2001. After his years with El Mansoura, Zakaria moved to the Egyptian club, Elektrokahramon, from 2002 to 2006, where he continued his career in the Egyptian league and solidified his place as one of the most prominent players in Egypt at that time. His journey as a head coach began at the United World College team/school in Singapore, where this role provided him with the opportunity to guide teams and achieve significant successes in an educational and athletic environment. This was a strong start for him in coaching, as he combined academic and practical knowledge to teach players the fundamental skills and sports tactics.
Zakaria then moved on to become the Technical Director at the Euro Soccer Academy in Singapore, where he worked on developing specialized training programs in a prestigious sports academy. In this role, he played a significant part in enhancing the players’ technical performances and guiding the academy’s teams toward higher levels of professionalism. This role gave him more experience in working with different age groups and ensuring harmony between training plans, physical aspects, and tactical strategies for the teams.
Zakaria continued to develop his coaching career, taking on the role of a coach at the Singapore American School (SAS Football Program). In this role, he trained younger players, focusing on providing them with the fundamentals of the game while adopting an approach that emphasized the development of both individual and team skills, in addition to fostering important sports values such as teamwork and discipline.
Later on, Zakaria returned to head coaching, this time at the International Football Academy in Singapore. Here, he took charge of the academy and oversaw the coaching of its teams. He also worked on developing players to be ready for progression to higher professional levels.
