Playing Career – From Egyptian Fields to International Experience
Mohamed Zakaria began his football career in the late 1990s when he joined El Mansoura Club in Egypt, playing from 1998 to 2001. From the very beginning, he displayed remarkable technical skills and a strong ability to read the game, quickly drawing attention from other clubs.
He then moved to Kahraba Talkha Club from 2002 to 2006, where he proved himself a key player, taking on leadership roles on the field and inspiring his teammates with a fighting spirit. His ambitions were not limited to Egyptian football—he aspired to expand his experience internationally.
In 2008, he embarked on a new professional chapter with Woodlands Wellington FC in Singapore. This experience opened the door for him to engage with different footballing philosophies and enriched his tactical understanding. In 2010, he took another major step in his career by joining Miami FC in the United States, where he continued to perform at a high level, showcasing maturity and an advanced grasp of the game.
Transition to Coaching
Zakaria’s journey as a player was not the end of his story in football—it marked the beginning of a new and more influential chapter. Armed with real-world experience and deep knowledge of the game, he moved into coaching with purpose and passion.
He held several coaching positions in Singapore, most notably serving as the Head Coach at the International Football Academy, where he led numerous development programs aimed at nurturing young players with skill, discipline, and strong character.
He also took on coaching responsibilities at the Singapore American School, where he taught children the fundamentals of football using an educational and engaging approach that fostered a love for the sport and instilled values of teamwork and discipline.
On the technical and administrative side, he was appointed Technical Director at Euro Soccer Academy, overseeing training methodologies and evaluating the performance of both players and coaches. His leadership contributed significantly to enhancing the overall quality of the academy. In addition, he served as Head Coach at United World College, where he demonstrated a remarkable ability to build a cohesive and effective team despite differences in skill levels and cultural backgrounds.
