Get to Know Mohamed Zakaria Mido | The Journey of a Professional Player and Successful Coach
In the world of football, there are names that leave their mark—whether on the field as players or on the sidelines as coaches. Mohamed Zakaria Mido is one of those rare individuals who combined technical skill as a professional player with strategic vision as a successful coach, crafting an exceptional career worthy of admiration and reflection.

From Egyptian Pitches to International Professionalism
Mido’s journey began on the streets of Dakahlia Governorate in Egypt, where his passion for football was evident from a young age. Through dedication and hard work, he joined the ranks of El Mansoura Club in the late 1990s—one of the well-known clubs in Egyptian football. Between 1998 and 2001, his name began to rise as a tactically intelligent player with high fitness levels, drawing attention both within and beyond the club.
Following a successful spell with El Mansoura, he transferred to Kahraba Talkha Club from 2002 to 2006, where he played a key role in helping the team reach higher competitive levels. There, he continued to grow as a winger or midfield playmaker, capable of orchestrating attacks and leading his teammates on the field.
But Mido’s ambitions were not limited to the local stage. In 2008, he moved to Singapore to join Woodlands Wellington FC, where he experienced a new professional environment and faced diverse teams, exposing him to the Asian football style. Later, in 2010, he traveled to the United States to play for Miami FC, gaining further exposure in a highly organized and professional sports environment.
From Player to Coach: Passion and Continuous Growth
After years of playing, Mido’s journey on the pitch didn’t end with retirement. Instead, he saw coaching as a new platform to continue making an impact—but this time, from the sidelines. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Mansoura University in 2002, and also obtained the CAF/AFC “C” Coaching License, officially launching his coaching career.
Settling later in Singapore, Mido began an expansive coaching path, progressing through several important roles, including:
-
Head Coach at United World College, where he oversaw teams of various levels and played a major role in developing students physically and mentally.
-
Technical Director at Euro Soccer Academy, where he helped build modern training curricula based on sports performance science.
-
Football Coach at the Singapore American School (SAS), contributing to the primary football development program and nurturing children’s skills from an early age.
-
Head Coach at the International Football Academy (IFA), where he combined technical and educational work, succeeding in creating well-rounded teams in terms of discipline and readiness.
